2014-1990 Founding Editor/Faculty Advisor, Sierra Nevada Review. Founded the literary journal Sierra Nevada Review in 1990, continuous annual publication. Developed guidelines and publication dates.
2015-2010 Initiated the Sierra Nevada Review high school creative writing competition, with cash and scholarship awards to winners.
2016- 2007 April [ongoing] Initiated Annual Tahoe Poetry Slam Competition, initially with Sam Pierstoff as MC, subsequent MCs include Patricia Smith, Berkeley slam team, Raina Leon and others.
2016-2004 [ongoing]: Serve on numerous committees at Sierra Nevada College including Strategic Planning, Retention Committee, Core Education, Curriculum, and others.
2011 Researched and proposed BFA in Creative Writing at Sierra Nevada College, approved spring 2011.

2011 Created two new minors in English program: Creative Writing and Journalism.
2010 [ongoing] Initiated Visiting Writer Program at Sierra Nevada College. Guest writers are invited for a one-year teaching appointment. Visiting writers include Gayle Brandeis, Kelle Groom, Chris Millis and others
2010-2009 Served as elected Faculty Council Chair at Sierra Nevada College. 2008 Associate Editor for the International Journal of the Humanities, volume five. 2007 Co-curricular Activities Committee Chair at Sierra Nevada College.
2007-1998 English Lab Coordinator Sierra Nevada College. Developed a writing lab for SNC students to receive assistance in English skills. Developed a tutor-training program for peer tutoring. Supervised lab tutors and scheduled hours for writing lab.
2005-2002 Faculty Advisor for The Eagle’s Eye, the student newspaper at Sierra Nevada College. Taught journalism, established deadlines, supervised student development of guidelines, editorial policy and practices.
2002 Initiated Junior Proficiency Exam at Sierra Nevada College to assess writing skills, testing required for graduation. Developed support and tutoring for non-passing students who need to re- take the exam.
